Taitara Mahi – Accounts Payable Officer
12 months Fixed-Term, Full-Time position
Hastings District Council is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team. This is a key position responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payments and supporting a range of core financial operations.
You will play an important role in ensuring the integrity of our financial systems, while working collaboratively with both internal departments and external suppliers. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a high-performing, service-focused team within a well-established public sector organisation.
The role is responsible for the end-to-end processing of accounts payable invoices, daily bank reconciliations, preparation of direct credit payments, and general ledger journals. You’ll also produce monthly accounts payable reports, maintain the chart of accounts, and provide administrative and customer service support to the wider Finance team, while assisting with a range of other accounting tasks as needed.

- Basic accounting skills
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Intermediate Excel and Word skills
- Reconciliation experience.
