As Discipline Leader of Acting, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our Acting programme, at all levels from Certificate to Bachelors, and up to postgraduate levels. The Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts (BPSA) stands as a thriving, vibrant programme, requiring leadership with industry expertise.

Our Acting programme is heavily practice-based, and your industry standing will be integral in leading the development of acting and performance skills, helping students to realize their full potential on both screen and stage.

You'll have:

  • An understanding or desire to learn te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Māori.
  • Demonstrable commitment in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments.
  • A proven ability to create solutions-based results with diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant qualification at least one level higher than courses lecturing, where practicable. Alternatively, relevant experience may be appropriate in some circumstances.
  • Demonstrable practical ability to lecture in vocational education context
  • Strong industry networks.
  • Active researcher, with capability and passion to contribute towards Unitec's industry and community-driven research.
