He aha te tūranga - About the role:
We are currently recruiting for an Ambulance Resource Assistant to join our team at the Mount Wellington Station. This is a full-time, permanent position operating 4x4 roster, totaling 42 hours per week.
We are seeking a reliable team member to ensure all operational vehicles and equipment are clean, serviced, stocked, and ready for immediate use. Responsibilities include preparing ambulances for duty, relocating vehicles, performing minor repairs, maintaining compliance (COFs, road user charges), managing consumables, and supporting business continuity efforts. This role is key to maintaining operational readiness and resilience.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe - About you:
- Current, clean full NZ Driver’s licence class 1 required, with the ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles confidently.
- First Aid certificate.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Ability to follow instructions and exhibit a high level of attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills: written, verbal and listening.
- Computer literate.
- Demonstrate knowledge and appreciation of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application for St John in the community and healthcare environments.
