Role Objective:

We’re looking for a detail-driven and proactive Assistant Accountant to join the Live Nation New Zealand Festivals team in Auckland. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the engine room behind some of Aotearoa’s most iconic music festivals, providing crucial support to the team that brings it all to life.

As the Assistant Accountant, you’ll work closely with the Finance and Festival teams to ensure the smooth delivery of financial operations across our New Zealand festival businesses. From reconciling accounts and preparing journals to assisting with settlements and audits, you’ll play a key role in keeping the numbers in check and the business moving forward.

You’ll bring a keen eye for detail, excellent organisation skills, and a love for working in a dynamic environment. If you’re passionate about live music and ready to take the next step in your accounting career, we’d love to hear from you. If you think you’ve got what it takes, apply now with a cover letter telling us why you’re the perfect fit for this role.

What you'll be doing:

  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations: Maintain accuracy across all reconciliations to ensure clean reporting and compliance.
  • Accounts Support: Work with Shared Services to manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Journals & Recharges: Prepare monthly journals and intercompany recharges with precision.
  • Debt Management: Oversee aged debtors and ensure timely collection and communication.
  • Balance Sheet & Reporting: Assist in monthly reconciliations and reporting across the business.
  • Event & Artist Settlements: Support the financial wrap of our festivals and artist engagements.
  • Vendor & Audit Assistance: Help manage vendor compliance approvals and internal/external audit requests.

What you’ll bring:

  • Accounting Experience: At least 2 years in a similar role, with experience in reconciliations, AP/AR, and monthly reporting.
  • Attention to Detail: A methodical approach with strong accuracy in all aspects of your work.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and juggle competing priorities.
  • Tech Confidence: High computer literacy, particularly in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal.
  • Bonus Skills (Not Essential): Oracle experience, project accounting knowledge, and progress toward CA/CPA qualifications.
  • Passion for Events: A genuine interest in the music and entertainment industries.

The Benefits:

  • A vibrant, music-focused workplace fostering creativity and collaboration.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • Access to concerts, events, and other entertainment perks.
  • A diverse, equitable workplace where every voice matters.
  • Comprehensive benefits, from volunteer days to wellness programs and mental health support.

Equal Opportunities:

We are deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and supporting our people. In our inclusive workplace, you’re encouraged to bring your whole self to work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. As a growing business, we support your professional and personal development, offering opportunities to learn and grow alongside talented colleagues. We value talent in all forms and welcome applications from individuals of any gender, race, age, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or caregiving responsibilities.
