Mō tēnei tūranga | About the opportunityWe’re looking for an all-rounder to help ensure our farms operate safely and successfully. In this role, you’ll be involved in a variety of farm operations, including milking, stock work, farm maintenance, weed spraying, record keeping, contractor liaison, and machinery operation. Your positive attitude, willingness to learn, and understanding of farming will set you up for success. As an Assistant Farm Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Farms Manager to achieve both national and global objectives. Our Northland Farms span approximately 550ha of land, offering a diverse range of operations. From milking 280 cows twice daily on a 100ha milking platform to exporting 2 million kgDM annually from our cut-and-carry platform, and managing heifer replacements and beef grazing on our drystock block, there’s always something new to tackle. Located just 15 minutes north of Whangarei, in the stunning gateway to the Tutukaka Coast, this is a role where lifestyle meets opportunity.
Mōu | About youYou’re an experienced farmer who thrives on working independently and safely across a range of farming activities. You’re passionate about learning, growing, and contributing to innovative farming solutions that make a real impact. With a strong foundation in farming skills, you’re ready to step up and support the Farm Manager in day-to-day operations and decision-making, while taking pride in the farm’s success.
Key Skills & Attributes: - An Agribusiness or farming qualification is preferred but not essential – we value practical experience and a willingness to learn.- A strong background in animal management and dairy farming, with a focus on delivering excellent results.- Experience with farm management software (FarmIQ preferred) to help drive efficiency and innovation.- A proactive approach to health and safety, fostering a culture of care and responsibility within the team.- A team player with a genuine passion for farming and a desire to grow and progress within the industry.- Pride in farm presentation and a good sense of humor to keep the team motivated and engaged.- Strong relationship-building skills, thriving in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
