ASB Corporate Banking is the primary face to the market for all complex financing and relationship functions for the Bank's Corporate client segment.
ASB Corporate Banking aspires to be the trusted advisor for the Bank's Corporate clients by being the go-to partner for advice and a champion for NZ business. As a team we are focused on growth, and we are looking for an Associate Client Director to join our us South Island team based in Christchurch.
Te Tūranga | The role:
As an Associate Client Director, you will be a key member of the Corporate Banking team. Supporting the Client Director, you'll manage a portfolio of corporate clients and target new-to-bank opportunities. You'll develop client plans aligned with ASB's corporate strategy and lead initiatives to originate new business and deepen existing relationships.
Every day in the role, you will:
- Serve as the go-to partner for advice at all stages of the customer journey
- Support the Client Director in managing client portfolios and executing strategic plans
- Support origination efforts, structure and negotiate commercial terms, and ensure timely delivery of client solutions
- Undertake credit writing for new and existing clients, leveraging input from internal teams
- Collaborate with Risk Management to analyse industry and client risk profiles
- Engage with NZ CEOs, CFOs, and Boards to elevate ASB's market presence
- Represent ASB at industry events and marketing activities
- Apply a OneTeam approach, working closely with product and referral partners

Ō pūkenga | About you:
You'll bring a strong understanding of the NZ Corporate and Institutional Banking markets, including industry trends, risks, and opportunities. With 5+ years' experience in Corporate, Institutional, or Investment Banking, you're confident in managing complex client portfolios and supporting strategic growth.
You're analytical, with strong credit writing and financial modelling skills, and a strategic mindset that supports long-term development. You're a natural relationship builder, able to engage senior stakeholders and influence outcomes. Ideally, you'll have banking experience and a solid grasp of financial markets and global dynamics.
