Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
As Associate Director - Faculty Digital Enablement you will be responsible for ensuring that academic staff and post graduate students have secure, user-friendly digital tools and services that support teaching, research, and professional growth at the University of Canterbury (UC). This role will drive and champion excellence in digital service and technical support for faculties, the adoption of digital tools to improve the academic and research administration and visibility of the academic voice within Digital Services. It will also foster strategic partnerships across UC and with industry.
You will achieve this by:
- Leading and inspiring high-performing teams
- Overseeing platform teams to enhance usability, integration, and stability of UC's digital ecosystem
- Establishing and managing embedded technical support ('Digital Connect') across all faculties
- Ensuring efficient service delivery aligned with UC's strategic goals
- Building trusted relationships with faculty leaders and act as a strategic digital partner
- Engaging with industry partners to support global e-Research initiative.
- Analysing and managing demand for new or improved digital services
- Supporting strategic planning through insights into service usage and future needs.
Mōu | Who You Are
You will have at least 10 years of leadership experience in Senior Product Management or Delivery management roles in large enterprise environments and at least 5 years' experience enabling digital services for research, teaching, or assessment. You will also be able to demonstrate:
- Advanced experience in setting and defining strategic product roadmaps from inception and on
- Experience managing the delivery of large and complex programs of work in complex environments with budget responsibility for large programs
- Experience in developing and leading a high performing team of product managers and programme/project managers as well as agile delivery roles (scrum masters, agile team facilitators).
- Experience in developing agile product and delivery practices
- Experience managing multiple work streams and line managed small product teams
- An alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
You will hold a Bachelor's Degree (NZQA Level 7) in Business, Management, Computer Science or a related field and be able to provide evidence of project and programme management training and certification, agile training and certifications and product management training.
