About the role
Bell Gully’s market-leading Corporate team is looking for experienced lawyers in our Auckland office.
As an intermediate or senior lawyer in the team, you will advise on a full range of corporate transactions, including public and private M&A, capital raisings, corporate restructurings, joint ventures and other complex transactions. You will work for a diverse group of local and international clients, including international private capital and infrastructure funds, and local and international listed companies, in a well-respected and inclusive and supportive team environment. The dynamics of the team, and work and client opportunities, will provide you with the platform to thrive and develop as a corporate lawyer, whether you’re moving within New Zealand or returning from offshore.

- Contact Energy on its proposed acquisition of NZX-listed Manawa Energy through a court approved scheme of arrangement with an implied enterprise value of NZ$2.3 billion.
- Stonepeak on its takeover of Arvida, which had an overall transaction value of $2 billion.
- Ryman Healthcare on its $1.0 billion fully underwritten placement and accelerated non-renounceable entitlement offer.
- Suncorp on the sale of its Asteron Life business to Resolution Life for $410 million.
- Jarden on its merger with JBWere NZ and BNZ Investment Services to create “FirstCape”.
- 5+ years PQE, including private practice and/or in-house.
- M&A, capital raisings and other corporate transactions.
- Strong technical knowledge, commercial acumen and client service skills.
- Right to work in New Zealand.
