The opportunity
At AsureQuality our Biosecurity and field team provide services to help protect New Zealand against exotic pests and disease incursions and this is an opportunity for you to be on the frontline of this battle. We currently have a great part time opportunity to join our team as Biosecurity Field Officer.
- Deliver biosecurity surveillance monitoring for projects such as Fruit fly surveillance, National Invasive Ant Surveillance programme (NIAS), pest plant management and ecological restoration.
- Provide protection at high-risk sites such as private properties, farms, sea-ports, airports and transitional facilities
- Ensure quick accurate reporting at likely contamination points for pests and exotic species.
- Site inspection
- Trapping/surveillance work
- Data recording and sample handling
- Assisting with scheduling, data entry, health & safety compliance, and reporting.

Please note this is a permanent season position, the season begins 18th August and ends in mid July each year. Your hours of work will be between Monday to Saturday between the hours of 6.30am to 6pm.
To be considered for this role will require …

- The ability to use phone app and computer technology
- A strong health and safety focus
- Previous experience in Biosecurity is highly desirable but not essential.
- A full, clean New Zealand drivers licence is essential
