We’re looking for a commercially curious and positive team player with strong communication skills to join our team in the role of Category Development Manager, managing our biscuits portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Category NZ, this central role sits within our Category Team and is based at our Head Office in Ellerslie, Auckland
You will be responsible to drive category growth through data-led insights, strategic planning, and commercial collaboration. The ideal candidate is not only passionate about consumers and market trends but also has a strong grasp of revenue management and commercial acumen to influence key business decisions and retail partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead category strategy and development plans to drive market share, volume, and value growth.
- Analyse shopper, market, and performance data to identify opportunities and unlock category growth.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, revenue management) and retail partners to optimize assortment, pricing, and promotion strategies.
- Support customer business planning with category insights and recommendations tailored to each retail partner.
- Track competitor activity, market shifts, and shopper behaviour to inform agile decision-making.
- Proven experience in a Category Management or Category Development role within the FMCG sector.
- Strong understanding of revenue growth management (RGM) and pricing strategy.
- Strong capabilities in Excel, PowerPoint, IRI, Nielsen (if you have worked with data services such as Dunhumby that would be an extra tick!)
- An innovative curious mindset– you’re not afraid to challenge the status quo and throw new ideas into the mix
- Experience working in a front-line sales role (NAM, NBM, KAM or Territory Manager) is an advantage
- Resilience, positivity and a solutions-focused approach– nothing is ever a problem!
- Strong presentation skills, both within internal and external environments
- Excellent commercial acumen and ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Confident working cross-functionally and influencing both internal stakeholders and customers.
