In the moment, for the future:
At Genesis, care shows up in so many ways. We're a place where support runs deep, knowledge is shared freely, and people feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether you're just starting out or bringing years of experience, you'll find a team that lifts you up and helps you thrive. If you're looking for a workplace where wellbeing and belonging are part of the DNA, you've found it.
What you'll do:
Based at the Huntly Power Station, reporting to our Chemistry Lead, this internship offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience working alongside experts in lab chemistry, water treatment, and cooling systems. You'll dive into real projects, learn practical skills through a tailored training plan, and contribute to important chemical analyses that help keep our operations running smoothly.
The role will also include opportunities for whanaungatanga with other interns, including travel to our Hamilton office and attend workshops and site tours as a rōpū. If you're curious, motivated, and ready to turn theory into practice, this is the perfect opportunity to grow your knowledge and make an impact.
Internship period: November 2025 to February 2026, with some flexibility provided (400 hours to be completed).
What you'll need:
- Enrolled in Bachelor of Science or relevant tertiary courses
- Applicants should ideally have completed at least one year of their degree program and be enrolled in their second year or higher; however, this is preferred, not mandatory
- Previous workplace experience is desirable but not a requirement
- Keen to learn, brings a positive attitude and willingness to contribute
- Great communication skills
- Full driver's licence
- Available for the whole internship duration from November 2025 - February 2026.
How we'll help you thrive:
We're proud of our strong culture, which makes Genesis a great place to work. Ensuring our people are safe at work and can be themselves is crucial, this is reflected in our focus on safety and wellbeing.
We believe embracing diversity, embedding equity and being intentional about inclusion are essential to making Genesis a strong, innovative workplace where different backgrounds, perspectives and ideas thrive.
