We are looking for a permanent Chief Adviser to join the Market Regulation Branch. This is a senior technical role that will see you provide well-informed expert technical advice, contribute to strategy development, mentor team members, and lead the delivery of key workstreams.
Mo te turanga | About the role
Working primarily with the groceries Monitoring and Market Performance team, you play a lead role in setting up effective systems and processes to support our monitoring responsibilities, including producing an annual report on the state of competition in the grocery sector. You will bring experience in building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders and bring robust analysis, planning and review to the team's and branch's work. A key focus of this role is supporting the Commission to be intelligence-led. You will be ensuring our work is targeted, evidence-based, and responsive to what's happening in the markets we regulate.
This role can be based, in our either Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.
The indicative salary range for this role is $146,663 - $172,545 plus 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects their individual skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.

- Policy, regulatory or Grocery sector experience
