In this pivotal role as Commercial Planning Manager & Category Analyst, reporting to the Country Manager of Nestlé Professional NZ, you will lead the integration of commercial planning and data-driven decision-making, playing a key role in driving growth and success across our New Zealand operations.


A day in the Life


  • Drive the Monthly Business Planning process to identify and manage strategic and executional gaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and improve forecasting and reporting tools using Excel and Power BI to support accurate planning.
  • Oversee commercial planning and monitor promotional performance against established targets to drive effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement by utilizing advanced systems and robust reporting methodologies.
  • Maintain a dynamic pricing database, track competitor movements, and collaborate on CPI recommendations to support strategic pricing decisions.
  • Work closely with various internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of commercial outputs.


What will make you successful


  • Minimum of 6+ years Commercial experience in the Category or Finance
  • Exceptional understanding of commercial dynamics and market trends.
  • Highly skilled in Excel and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving mindset, analytical capabilities, and influencing skills to drive business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Technical departments.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of developing and mentoring colleagues, inspiring and motivating teams to achieve high performance.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to use AI tools to drive efficiency and seek out automation opportunities
