Job Description

He aha te tūranga - About the role:

Our Community Education team empowers young people with essential life skills, helping them build confidence in first aid and mental wellbeing. As a Community Educator, you’ll visit schools and early childhood centres across the wider Bay of Plenty area, delivering engaging, high-energy sessions that inspire tamariki to look after themselves and others.

This role will predominantly deliver two distinct education programmes which serve different but equally vital purposes (along with supporting our other programmes when required). With both curricula already designed, your role is to bring them to life! You’ll create an engaging learning environment, adapting your approach to different age groups and learning styles.

A basic knowledge of Te Reo Māori is highly desirable but not essential.

How much admin is involved?

Approximately 20% of your role will be admin-related. 

Who books the education sessions?

Initially, we’ll handle bookings while you settle in. Once comfortable, you’ll take the lead in reaching out to schools/kura and building new relationships.
