The Opportunity:

We have a newly created role for a Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to join our Meadow Fresh Dairy manufacturing site in Christchurch. As our new CI Manager you will take ownership of the Site's cost saving initiatives and will have responsibility for identifying, planning and executing programmes of improvements.

In order to achieve this, you responsibilities will include:

  • Take ownership of the project roadmap and tracker ensuring projects are delivered as to the plan
  • Calculate and report on ROI on improvement projects including forecasting future cost savings
  • Take a hands-on approach to identify improvement projects through interacting with the team at site
  • Identify opportunities to reduce unplanned and planned down-time of lines utilizing OFS data
  • Conduct Root-Cause Analysis of losses including providing commentary and suggestions for improvement through project presentations

About you

To make this role as success, we are a looking for an experienced Continuous Improvement professional who has experience in leading cost-saving projects in the manufacturing industry.

Experiences, skillsets and competencies we are looking for include:

  • Proven experience in designing and executing CI projects
  • High level of comfort with data manipulation and good Excel skills (v-lookups, Pivots)
  • Experience in manufacturing is essential, preferably in the Dairy industry. An understanding of Dairy waste streams would be useful
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and an ability to gain buy-in for projects
  • An understanding of manufacturing principles (Lean, 5Ss); experience in food/dairy manufacturing would be useful but not essential
