We're seeking a skilled Contract Engineer to join our Projects team in Invercargill. Reporting to the Department Manager, you'll assist in managing and driving the delivery of high-quality projects. You'll play an active part in tendering and pricing, set up jobs with full documentation and clear budgets, and assist in overseeing the entire project lifecycle-ensuring all work is completed to specification, on time, and in line with Fulton Hogan's commitment to safety, quality, and environmental performance.
In addition to the above you will:
- Ensure forward planning, organising and ordering of subbies, materials, plant and people to optimise efficiencies on the job
- Manage and direct contract administration, understanding contractual requirements and expectations
- Set performance expectations with Supervisors/Foremen and construction crews.
- You'll assist in managing project performance, maintain concise records, provide accurate monthly reporting, and keep project programmes up to date-proactively communicating any changes.
- Utilise your professional communication skills with clients and the wider project team ensuring a collaborative approach

We’re looking for someone with:
- NZCE or significant industry experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the construction industry
- Current drivers licence class 1
- Experience managing teams and sub-contractors
- Demonstrated leadership capability with a strong focus on people, safety and quality
- Demonstrated experience in effective communication and stakeholder management
