We’re looking for a hands-on, practical team player to help maintain and repair our stormwater and wastewater networks. In this vital role, you’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fix faults fast, and make sure our drainage systems are safe, reliable, and free-flowing. You’ll work with a skilled team, operate plant and equipment, and take pride in delivering quality results for our community.

You’ll bring solid maintenance or construction experience (ideally in utilities), practical skills with tools and small machinery, and a strong focus on safety and customer service. Physically fit and adaptable, you’ll be ready to tackle challenges, work independently when needed, and be available for rostered call-outs.

If you want a varied, active role where your work has a direct impact on the city every day—join us and help keep Napier moving.

Remuneration for this role is $28.96 - $33.89 per hour, depending on your skills and experience.

We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when we have found the right person.
