Waterworld Te Rapa is our flagship aquatics centre and it offers something for everyone. With six pools including toddler and outdoor pools, hydroslides, a full-service gym, land and water-based exercise classes, learn to swim classes and more.

Job Description

He angituutanga: The opportunity

The Duty Manager position is responsible for the delivery of all operational activities and routines, ensuring the safe supervision of customers, the facility, water quality and customer service are all kept to a high standard. This role also requires a strong health and safety focus with the ability to take a proactive approach to identify, communicate and eliminate hazards and risks to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and facility.

Day to day you will be leading and managing a team of pool lifeguards, ensuring they are enabled to deliver outstanding services to our customers and our community. You will be expected to Work Sunday and Monday opening or closing, so will need to be felxible between 5am to 9:30pm. Bringing a sense of fun and a positive and motivational mindset will also be required.

NO technical experience is needed though it is preferred! To be successful you will be process orientated and able to follow daily routines and instructions. You will be able to deal calmly with any conflict situation, and have flexibility to adapt as situations arise - sometimes we have lots of balls in the air to juggle!

In addition, being friendly and approachable, having excellent communication skills, bringing a strong health and safety focus, and being accountable are the other key personal attributes we are looking for.
