About the Role:
Based at PACT Packaging’s Temuka site and reporting to the Site Manager, the Engineering Manager is a critical hands-on operational leadership role. Contributing to every aspect of the business through knowledge and influence this role is responsible for driving the existing plant to true World Class metrics and is key to developing the technical skills of the operational team to best support this agenda.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Lead the engineering function to ensure responsiveness to equipment inefficiencies and opportunities.
- Operate successfully in a highly seasonal business by best utilizing time within manufacturing requirements.
- Achieve high levels of equipment performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Deliver outstanding customer service in a fast and demanding business environment.
- Hold a key stakeholder position in future site developments and many significant capital projects.
- Engage an entire operations team to ensure improved understanding of equipment.
- Keep abreast of new technologies and emerging opportunities with your CI mindset.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following essential skills & experience:
- Maintenance and Diagnostics or Fitting, Turning and Machining or similar Engineering based trade.
- Hands on maintenance and repair experience, maintenance schedules/planning, budget management, time management and communication
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a maintenance leadership environment whilst being exposed to current CMMS programs and IT tools.
- Dual trade electrical or a limited license is highly desirable with any advanced or tertiary qualification of advantage
- A passion to develop relationships and positively influence people to be their best.
- Self-motivated and results oriented
