Te Tūranga | About the Role
As Environmental Advisor, you’ll play a critical role in supporting Silver Fern Farms’ environmental strategy and action plan. Working across both the North and South Islands, you’ll help ensure our 14 processing sites meet regulatory obligations, maintain robust Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and deliver on continuous improvement initiatives.
You’ll join a passionate and experienced team of Environmental Managers and Advisors, providing cross-regional support for consent compliance, monitoring, reporting, site training, and project coordination. This role provides the essential operational and administrative backbone that enables the Environmental Managers to focus on strategic leadership, planning, and engagement.
This is a replacement role, well-aligned to Silver Fern Farms’ long-term environmental objectives, offering the chance to make a real impact in operational delivery while building your career in environmental management.
This role can be based in Dunedin or Christchurch, and will require travel to sites on occasion.
Why This Role Matters
Silver Fern Farms is committed to creating Goodness from the farms the world needs; that means meeting our environmental obligations and continuously improving our impact.
This role enables consistent delivery of EMS requirements, strengthens site-level capability, and ensures high-quality data and reporting across key programmes including regulatory compliance, internal audits, the Nature Positive programme of work, and sustainability initiatives.
By taking the lead on day-to-day support, reporting, and coordination, you’ll empower the Environmental Managers to focus on strategy, stakeholder engagement, and high-impact initiatives, while directly contributing to improved environmental outcomes at our sites.
