An exciting opportunity for a Head of Finance (internally titled Chapter Lead Business Partnering) has arisen to take a leadership role in Roche Products New Zealand (RPNZ). Based in Auckland and reporting to the General Manager of RPNZ, you will be a key member of the affiliate Enabling Team. You will be jointly accountable for co-creating and embedding the New Zealand long-term vision and strategy, fostering an environment that promotes trust, transparency, and a customer centricity that inspires and motivates teams to develop and adopt an agile way of working.

In this position, you'll lead the Business Partnering Chapter managing and overseeing the financial results of the affiliate and ensuring seamless operations of the Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, IT, and Business Support Partner teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Business Partnership: Collaborating with business leaders on strategic direction, overseeing local finance and procurement, ensuring compliance, and managing external stakeholder relationships.

  • Insights Generation: Translating data into actionable insights, identifying challenges, opportunities, and industry trends to ensure long-term sustainability.

  • Long-term Portfolio Planning and Resourcing Strategy: Driving business planning, formulating local finance strategy, and guiding the business with relevant financial information.

  • Financial Governance & Compliance Officer Role: Leading the Compliance Board, acting as legal contact, monitoring procedures, and fostering a culture of compliance.

  • Supply Chain & Operations: Ensuring uninterrupted supply of medicines, managing stock, and overseeing third-party distributor performance.

Who You Are:

As a natural leader and coach with a strong entrepreneurial mindset who can influence and enable decisions, you will thrive in a fast-paced high-performing environment where you can and will challenge the status quo, and be challenged.

To be successful in this application, you will have a minimum 10 years of finance experience; a professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACA, CIMA) or University Degree/MBA and a proven record of ensuring financial governance and a strong network with the internal and external financial communities. You are a curious leader that is comfortable to contribute also outside your core expertise.

Furthermore, you will demonstrate:

  • a proven track record of building strong and sustainable relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders;

  • Ability to travel interstate and internationally as required by the position.
