About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for a health care assistant to work within the Cardiac Care Unit. Here is a great opportunity to work in a progressive and dynamic environment, which values and supports its team members and their contributions.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting the registered nurses in patient care
- Assisting patients with personal cares and activities of daily living
- Providing a clean, safe and tidy environment for patients and staff
- Maintaining stock levels and distributing supplies, linen and equipment throughout the ward as required
The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery Agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), shift allowances, professional development and wellness support.

About the Service
The Cardiac Care Unit has 52 beds and provides tertiary care to patients from throughout the Midlands Region requiring Cardiology Medicine including Acute Coronary Syndrome, Cardiac Investigation and Cardiac Electrophysiology and Heart failure management.
About you
Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- You must be able to work rostered shifts which includes nights and weekends
- Excellent time management and communication skills
