We invite you to join our dynamic and growing Wellness Support Team (WST) — a group of 90+ dedicated professionals leading the way in primary care wellbeing support for our multicultural communities.
Tāmaki Health's “Wellness Support Team" (WST) was established in 2012 and is led by pioneering primary mental health psychiatrist Dr David Codyre. Our team won the best mental health programme award at the 2021 New Zealand Primary Healthcare Awards. We provided holistic support to people (all ages) and whānau with psychosocial, mental, physical and wellbeing needs.

About the Role
Health Coaches are based in GP clinics working alongside GP’s, Nurses and the Primary Care team.
As a Health Coach, you will:
- Provide brief, targeted Health Coaching to individuals and whānau focusing on managing long term conditions and wellbeing
- Support and promote wellbeing for patients as part of routine GP care.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with your clinic.
- Work alongside Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs) and a wider multidisciplinary team.
- Receive full training, including ongoing supervision and mentoring.
What You’ll Bring
- Lived experience of managing long term conditions and wellbeing for yourself or your whanau.
- Experience working with whaiora in a health/wellbeing related setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A passion for making a difference in the lives of our patients
- An interest in holistic healthcare
- Relationship management skills
- Cultural and/or linguistic diversity.
- Confidence using computers and a willingness to learn new systems.
- A passion for improving wellbeing through coaching practices.
- At least a secondary school qualification.
- Ability to work within evidence-based models of care.
- Experience and/or enthusiasm for delivering group programmes.
- Holding a health related qualification or prior experience or working in a healthcare setting an advantage
