Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
At Auckland Transport (AT), we're dedicated to making Auckland a better place to live, work, and play. We're looking for a passionate Assurance and Health Specialist to join our team and help us ensure the health and safety of our employees and the public.
As an Assurance and Health Specialist, reporting to Safety Assurance and Continuous Improvement Lead, you'll play a key role in supporting Safety Assurance activities and advising on work-related health management across AT. You'll also be working closely with our Health Lead to provide effective case management and specialist advice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Health Management: Offering expert health advice and support to our people leaders and employees regarding health monitoring, injury management and return to work plans.
- HSW Assurance: Supporting various Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) assurance activities to ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
- Risk Management: Helping identify and manage key organizational HSW risks.
- Continuous Improvement: Contributing to projects and initiatives that drive continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
- Safety Compliance: Conducting safety inspections, compliance reviews, audits, and other assurance activities.
- Data Management: Ensuring all HSW audit results and data are accurately recorded and stored.

We are looking for someone who is innovative, collaborative and has a passion for helping grow a high-performing team. You will have:
- Tertiary qualified Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist, or Occupational Therapist with a current NZ practicing certificate
- Minimum of 4 years in a Health, Safety, and Wellbeing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proven experience in contributing to managing the resolution of Health, Safety and Wellbeing issues
