About the role
The Nursing Resource Unit has the unique benefit of being able to offer you variety in your workplace. You would get to see the ins and outs of the whole hospital, where each day you may be based in a different environment.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be involved in:
- supporting our Nurses and other members of the Healthcare team
- patient supervision and/or movement
- stock reconciliation
- ward maintenance
- patient cares, as required.
Becoming a Healthcare Assistant in the health sector is a great opportunity to:

- gain a NZQA Level 3 certificate (Health and Wellbeing for Hospitals and Health Sector, fees are fully funded).

Experience working with people in a caring capacity is also essential, whether that experience is gained from within a professional environment, or from caring for children or family members. Our induction includes a two-day training programme to ensure you are fully equipped to under the role as a valuable part of the team.
