About the role

The Nursing Resource Unit has the unique benefit of being able to offer you variety in your workplace. You would get to see the ins and outs of the whole hospital, where each day you may be based in a different environment.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be involved in:

  • supporting our Nurses and other members of the Healthcare team
  • patient supervision and/or movement
  • stock reconciliation
  • ward maintenance
  • patient cares, as required.

  • gain a NZQA Level 3 certificate (Health and Wellbeing for Hospitals and Health Sector, fees are fully funded).

About you

We are seeking applications from those with previous healthcare experience, and from those who are dynamic, friendly and can demonstrate a high level of initiative. You will be committed to high standards of practice, be well organised and have excellent communication skills.

It is important that candidates are motivated, flexible, have a level of maturity about them and of course plenty of enthusiasm. Experience working with people in a caring capacity is also essential, whether that experience is gained from within a professional environment, or from caring for children or family members. Our induction includes a two-day training programme to ensure you are fully equipped to under the role as a valuable part of the team. You must have the right to work in New Zealand to apply for this position.
