Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
Our Institutional Banking team supports some of New Zealand's largest companies, assisting them with their complex banking needs and supporting their growth aspirations. The Institutional Banking division is split into three core industry groups, Infrastructure, Government & Specialised Finance, Large Corporates & Financial Institutions.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a curious and highly analytical professional to join us in Auckland, supporting either the Infrastructure, Government & Specialised Finance team, focusing on the portfolio of Energy, Utilities & Infrastructure clients, or our Large Corporate team.
We spoke with the Head of Client Management & Execution, who let us know the following about the role:
What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
Credit Assessment & Financial Modelling: providing financial and risk analysis of existing and prospect customers as part of preparing credit submissions, including financial modelling and analysis Deal Support: draft pricing papers to for existing and new transactions to support the growth of the institutional book Market Engagement: Attending client meetings and other industry events Customer Support: enhancing the client experience by taking ownership to resolve client requests / problems Portfolio Management: contributing to the management of the portfolio, including through active monitoring of customer covenants and controls, and ensuring adherence with all internal processes and procedures.

As a senior member within the team, you will have both a high level of responsibility, and a high degree of client contact - working with a wide range of products and services provided by the bank to a diverse set of clients.
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?
We are looking for someone who is open minded, with excellent time management skills, and able to think on their feet quickly, to solve problems.
To set you up for success, you will also have strong analytical or relationship management skills and experience, gained within Financial Services (ideally Institutional and/or Corporate Banking).
