We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and adaptable IT Service Desk Technician to join our Service Desk whānau. This role is integral in helping us support our people to achieve their goals through technology and our systems.

Te āhuatunga a te tūranga | About the role

As part of the wider Digital team at Toi Moana, we have the awesome job of providing day-to-day software and hardware support services, carrying out installations, configurations and maintenance on devices and liaising with our suppliers. Frequent travel throughout the Bay of Plenty will be required so a valid Restricted or Full drivers license is a must. This position is occasionally required to work outside of normal office hours as a result of unexpected system failures or planned works.

This role is expected to:

  • Operate as a key member of the Service Desk team, providing a high level of customer service and technical support.
  • Contribute to solving shared technical issues across the team by being team focused.
  • Follow identified procedures to ensure consistency of outcomes alongside maintaining integrity of our asset data.
  • Identify opportunities to deliver additional value using our existing technology wherever possible.

The IT Service Desk Technician role is a full-time permanent role based in our Whakatāne office.

Ō pūmanawa | Your skills and experience

To be successful, you will need:

  • To be confident and personable, with a proven interest in and an ability to build strong relationships.
  • Communicate technical problems and solutions clearly and simply to users.
  • Proven relevant experience operating in a similar capacity.
  • Proven track record of working independently.
  • A Diploma in Computer Engineering or a minimum of three years relevant work experience in IT Service Desk Support roles.
  • Experience working in local government or with local government would be advantageous.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 would be beneficial.
