Tekapo Springs is a leading tourism activity operator based in Lake Tekapo. We offer summer and winter activities including hot pools, an aqua play and cooler deep pool, a snow tube-park, ice rink, mini golf, a fully equipped day spa and licensed café. We think we have one of the best views in the world – mountains, lakes and stars! We also operate star gazing tours at night.
We’re looking for a mature, professional, and experienced person to join our team of Lifeguards in a supervisory position. You will work in a diverse role with a great team including lifeguards, mini golf, ice rink and snow tube attendants whilst you are on duty.

Skills and attributes desired;

Have strong leadership & interpersonal skills
- Be a fully qualified New Zealand lifeguard (PLSA/PLPC) (While this is a huge help training can be provided to the right candidate)
- Have a basic understanding of pool water testing
- Have current first aid certificate
- Demonstrate a strong customer service ethic, going above and beyond in every interaction with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Be super organised, reliable and responsible for health and safety of the team and the public
- Be calm and handle pressure whilst prioritising and multi-tasking
Ideally have experience working in a tourism, aquatic or sports facility where health and safety are paramount
Demonstrate outstanding communication skills (spoken and written)
Take responsibility, and follow through with action
This team provides the highest level of safety, customer service to the public. You will demonstrate the capability to support all staff to ensure you and the team deliver world class service and customer-focused outcomes. You’ll have experience in first aid, be calm in any emergencies and always be two steps ahead of everything that needs to be done and be someone that people can trust and respect.
A highly competitive rate is offered between $28 and $31 per hour based on your level of experience. We also have some great staff incentives and benefits in place, including free use of Tekapo Springs' facilities, monthly staff awards, regular pay reviews and a number of staff discounts.
This is a permanent role.
The role is a full time permanent position and involves shift work over a seven-day roster.
The successful candidate would need to relocate/live in Lake Tekapo or the immediate surrounding area.
