Bring Napier’s story to life. We're looking for a passionate and experienced Marketing Advisor to join our high performing Communications, Marketing & Engagement Team. Reporting to the Creative & Digital Team Leader, you'll lead multi-channel campaigns that promote major city events, support Council initiatives, and help shape the future of Napier’s identity.
In this dynamic role, you’ll also provide strategic marketing support to Council-owned visitor and public facilities — from crafting campaign direction to elevating long-term marketing impact. With a strong grasp of both digital and traditional media, you'll plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging content across platforms. Your work will strengthen city vibrancy and ensure our messaging is inclusive, accessible, and aligned with Council’s priorities.
Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Design and deliver city-wide marketing campaigns using digital, print, radio, social media, and outdoor platforms.
- Collaborate with Council-owned facilities like Bay Skate, the Municipal Theatre and McLean Park on strategic marketing plans and campaign development.
- Produce compelling content while maintaining brand and accessibility standards; drive visibility for Council initiatives.
- Track campaign results, extract insights, and present recommendations to senior leaders to enhance future outcomes.
He kōrero mōhou - About You
- At least 6 years' proven marketing experience and a tertiary qualification in marketing or related discipline
- Proven success managing integrated campaigns
- A flair for writing and storytelling, backed by sharp communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively across teams, with strong stakeholder engagement
- Experience working in local government is a plus

This is a full time, permanent opportunity working 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in Napier’s bustling CBD.
Remuneration for this role sits between $87,000-$103,000 per annum, depending on your skills and experience.
