We're looking for a Marketing Advisor to join our busy Communications and Engagement Unit on a fixed-term basis to cover an internal secondment. Working alongside business groups from across the organisation and externally, this busy and varied role takes responsibility for:
- Keeping residents and key stakeholders informed and engaged on Council's activities, services and decision making
- Developing and implementing effective marketing strategies to reach and communicate with Christchurch's diverse communities
- Manage different marketing channels and communications such as web content, advertising and social media
- Monitor and report on marketing outcomes
About you | Ko Koe Tēnei
Our ideal applicant will:
- Be a tertiary qualified professional with several years of marketing experience
- Have well-established and proven marketing skills - particularly in digital marketing
- Be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines, in a complex environment
- Be a strong communicator who is able to present effectively, with a talent for relationship building

Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
Position - 12 month fixed term
Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $88,003 to $97,781 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
