We are looking for an experienced Mechanic to join our Workshop team in Gisborne. In this role you will complete the service, repair and compliance inspections of heavy vehicles, light vehicles, mobile and fixed plant to help deliver work for our customers safely on time, within budget, to the highest quality standard. You will be working alongside an experienced and supportive team in an environment that is both rewarding and enjoyable.
In addition to the above you will:
Look after the safety of yourself and people around you, 'push pause' when needed, never carryout a task when the safety of yourself and others is at risk
Service and repair vehicles and plant while following correct repair procedure
Report all failure/ breakdowns/ causes to the supervisor

We're looking for someone with:
Minimum class 1 drivers’ licence, class 2, 4 or 5 licenses preferred but not essential
Trade qualification in Heavy Automotive Engineering Plant and Equipment (or equivalent)
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends (rostered)
Ability to carry out metal work (weld and cut using oxy acetylene kit)
WTR preference
Experience working on trucks, heavy trailers, earthmoving equipment (dump trucks, graders, excavators, rollers, dozers, wheel loaders etc)
Experience in auto electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding
Experience working on light vehicle and light trailer servicing
Experience working mobile crushers and screens would be an advantage

This is a permanent position located in Gisborne. This position is 40 hours per week. The hourly rate is $41.22.
