About the Role
Are you an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician looking for an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-discipline laboratory?
Join our friendly and supportive team, working across all areas of the laboratory to provide diagnostic services to the Te Kuiti hospital and community. The successfully applicant will be responsible for performing a range of diagnostic tests, ensuring quality results, and contributing to patient care in a collaborative setting.
Although this is a full time position, reduced hours or a job share arrangement may be considered.

About the Team
Our laboratory is an integral part of the wider laboratory services at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato, servicing inpatients, outpatients and community patients. Te Kuiti laboratory has a team of 8 staff. The laboratory has up to date technology, and mostly performs testing of Haematology and Biochemistry samples for hospital and community patients. A smaller amount of Microbiology is performed on site. The laboratory also issues blood products, and oversees a range of Point of Care testing for the clinical areas of the hospital.
About you
Skills and experience you will need to be considered for the role:
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Sciences Council.
- Experience working in a multidiscipline medical laboratory will be advantageous
- Ability to work independently as well as part of the team
