Mō te tūnga | About the role

IDEA Services runs a small mental health service near Wellington offering supported accommodation to individuals with high or complex needs with mental health challenges, intellectual disabilities or dual diagnosis.

The team provides around the clock support with the expertise and training to work with people who have mental health and disability diagnoses. The service places value on the environment, importance of support, access to good food, exercise, social relationships, hope, human rights and being involved in the local community. The people we support take an active part in decision-making through meetings and committees.

The supported accommodation service is a cluster of six homes in a neighbourhood near Raumati beach. Staff work across the site, supporting residents to set goals, manage medication, complete activities of daily living, and explore new possibilities for growth and development. We work closely with local health and support services.

We are looking for someone to join as in a Planned Leave Cover (PLC) role. Our PLC roles cover staff leave, so they do not have a fixed shift pattern. Your fortnightly shift pattern will vary, but you are guaranteed at least 64 hours per fortnight. This role requires you to have availability to work a range of rostered shifts, including mornings, evenings and overnight wakeover shifts.
