Korero mo te turanga | About the role

We're looking for a proactive and detail-focused Ministerial Advisor to join our Engagement, Ministerial and Communications team at the Social Investment Agency | Toi Hau Tangata.

In this dynamic role, you'll help ensure the quality, consistency, and timeliness of responses to ministerial requests, including OIAs, PQs, briefings, and statutory reporting. You'll also play a key role in upholding our communications standards and supporting the agency's work with the Minister and Chief Executive.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and coordinate ministerial correspondence, briefings, and reports.
  • Support the Agency's relationship with the Minister and Minister's office.
  • Help maintain quality standards for communications, both internal and external.
  • Contribute to improving systems and building ministerial capability across the organisation.
  • Ensure information is accurate, timely, and procedurally sound.
He korero mou | About you
  • Previous experience in a government advisory or ministerial servicing role.
  • Strong understanding of the Official Information Act and parliamentary processes.
  • Excellent relationship and communication skills-written and verbal.
  • Political savvy, curiosity, and a commitment to public service values.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it applies in the public sector.

Band 15: Min $76 081 Mid $89 507 Max $107 408
