About The Role:
Join Tuatahi First Fibre as a Network Information Capture Specialist and play a key role in shaping the accuracy and reliability of our network data. Reporting to the Network Information Lead, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that our physical network information is captured, maintained, and managed to the highest standard. Your work will directly support planning, design, construction, and the ongoing operation of our network across Aotearoa.
Here’s what you can expect in your day-to-day:
- Process and update physical network data, including cables, ducts, pits, and poles, into Tuatahi’s Network Information Systems.
- Interpret design and as-built plans for accurate geospatial data entry.
- Carry out quality assurance checks to ensure consistency across network layers.
- Assist with general enquiries and applications, including processing new connections and field audit data.
- Oversee data requests and enhancements, ensuring timely updates, system improvements, and compliance with information security standards.
- Collaborate with design, field, and build teams to validate and clarify information.
Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:
- Solid background in network topography.
- Proven IT skills with experience using and administering GIS systems.
- Knowledge of utility networks and GIS principles, software, and hardware.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret spatial data and manage data quality.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualification in telecommunications, engineering, or technology.
- Knowledge of Layer 0/1 Networks, including platforms and systems.
- Experience with data transformation tools (e.g., FME, TOAD) and Esri products.
- Specialist experience in outside plant engineering or design.
