About the Role
We are currently seeking Orthopaedic Surgeons to join our close-knit team at Middlemore Hospital and Manukau Health Park. In the role you will deliver high quality orthopaedic care to the people of Counties Manukau, including providing planned care and managing acute and on call commitments.
We welcome interest from Orthopaedic Consultants with experience in hip and/or knee arthroplasty. Middlemore Hospital is home to one of the largest emergency departments in the southern hemisphere so a keen interest in trauma would also be beneficial.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Orthopaedic Service at Counties Manukau offers secondary paediatric and adult elective and acute services, while also providing tertiary level care in the areas of acute spinal cord impairment, pelvic trauma, and the mangled limb service in partnership with the Plastic Surgery department. It is a recognised training facility for medical staff providing a wide range of orthopaedic subspecialties. You will be based across two sites with most acute work taking place at Middlemore Hospital, while elective surgeries and outpatient clinics are primarily at the Manukau Health Park site.

About you
The successful candidate would need to have a keen interest in trauma as well as hip and knee arthroplasty to meet the department’s current needs.
- Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate with a vocational scope of Orthopaedic Surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- Have Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of surgeons or equivalent.
- Be aligned with the values of Counties Manukau.
