Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Kāpuhipuhi- Wellington Uni-Professional Ltd is growing its Scholarships team and is currently recruiting a full-time permanent position for a Programme Lead – Scholarships. This role supports the delivery of programmes under the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Programme, specifically the Thematic Short Term Training Scholarships (TSTTS) portfolio and In-country (IC-ELT) programme.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
Develops and maintains processes and relationships to support the successful operation and delivery of the TSTTS and IC-ELT programmes with strong attention to detail, quality and accuracy. This includes:
- Work with key stakeholders, including Education NZ, MFAT and New Zealand Post teams to promote the programmes.
- Lead the application process for TSTTS programmes, including management of the application portal.
- Produce monthly activity reporting, including extraction and manipulation of data from application portal.
- Financial Management, including creation of budgets and reporting.
- Accountability for predeparture briefings, travel logistics, accommodation, stipends, orientation, and escalated pastoral care issues.
- Engage with providers to ensure successful delivery of the programmes.
- Monitoring and Evaluation and associated reporting.
- Assist with the other international and scholarship programmes and activities as requested.
The right balance of traits for this role is a mix of autonomy, problem solving, and teamwork, but you’ll always have the full support of both the Wellington Uni-Professional scholarships and operations teams.

To succeed in this role, you'll be a team player. Our perfect person will have some or all the education, experience and knowledge listed below:
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and budget management.
- A high level of technical competency in Microsoft Office products, particularly excel, and internet applications.
- Demonstrated effective project management skills and understanding, and an outcome-oriented approach.
- Proven understanding of adult education principles and practice.
- Proven knowledge of tikanga Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and mātauranga Māori.
- Demonstrated effective project management skills and understanding, and an outcome-oriented approach.
- Experience managing relationships and working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Understanding and appreciation of cultural differences.
- Networks in the public sector and related organisations and businesses.
- Demonstrated experience in business development activities.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends, and travel if necessary.
