Job Description
Mō te tūranga | About the opportunity
As a Project Manager within our South Island Development team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality retirement communities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Reporting to the South Island Development Manager, and partnering with the wider Development & Construction team, you will gain full project lifecycle exposure—from planning, design and procurement through to construction delivery, FF&E fitout, and final key handover. You will be responsible for project reporting and documentation, budget and risk monitoring, consultant and contractor procurement, RFP management and management of design consultants, and construction delivery.
Based in Richmond, this role will require travel at times, depending on project requirements. You’ll work across both office and site environments, engaging with multiple stakeholders, and ultimately ensuring overall smooth project execution.
Qualifications
To tatou kaitono pai | Our ideal candidate must have
- 3+ years’ experience in project management in the $10m-$30m range, within a consultancy or client-side environment, ideally with exposure to the full construction life cycle with design, consenting, through to construction and handover.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to effectively understand competing requirements and achieve positive project outcomes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of building code and council consenting process, with some understanding of the resources and specialist skills required within construction projects.
- Exposure to risk and health and safety management, and an understanding of relevant legislation.
- Working knowledge of project management, document control software and Microsoft suite
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail.
