About the Role

The Corporate Quality and Risk Team is seeking a full time Quality and Patient Safety Lead to join the Team. You will assist in supporting a culture in which reporting and investigation of incidents, and proactive risk management is routine practice and is recognised by staff as a means of improving the quality of clinical care, reducing risks to patients and improving patient experience.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across a specific division to provide expert advice and support on all aspects of patient safety, with particular reference to adverse event and complaint investigation, risk management, report writing and facilitating lessons learned. The pace is busy and the work can often be complex so you must be proactive and flexible, able to prioritise your workload and deliver within the timeframes set.

Key to your success will be your ability to build and maintain strong relationships, manage multiple tasks and apply critical thinking.

You will have experience in a healthcare environment in:

  • Quality assurance activities (adverse events, complaints and corrective actions)
  • Risk Management
  • Quality measurement and using quality dashboards
  • Health and Disability Sector Service Standards processes
  • Report writing
  • Working with a multi-disciplinary team

A clinical background is preferred; however, Quality and Patient Safety Leads can have either a clinical or non-clinical background.
