About the Role
As the Radiation Therapy Quality Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact — leading and shaping quality and safety across the Regional Radiation Oncology Service. In this key role, you’ll support the service’s operational goals by further developing and maintaining a collaborative, system-wide approach to continuous improvement, aligned with both national and international best practice.
Working alongside the Radiation Therapy Head, Professional Leader, Clinical Team Leaders, Advanced Practitioners, and Senior and Specialist Radiation Therapists, you’ll provide clinical leadership while nurturing a culture of continuous learning and improvement. In this role, you’ll also play an important part in shaping service development, supporting staff engagement, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care.

About the Team / Service / Location
Our Radiation Therapy team at Auckland City Hospital is a collaborative, patient-focused service within Te Pūriri o Te Ora – Regional Cancer and Blood Service. With nearly 80 FTE, we deliver around 48,000 treatments annually across the Northern Region. Led by Clinical Team Leaders and supported by the Radiation Therapy Head and Professional Leader, we are committed to outstanding care, innovation, and professional growth.

About You
You are an experienced Radiation Therapist with a strong clinical background. You will bring:
- Extensive experience in radiation therapy treatment delivery
- Demonstrated leadership and/or team coordination experience
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills
- A commitment to quality, staff development, and culturally responsive care
- Registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB) and a current APC
