We're looking for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our Infrastructure Delivery team, initially supporting the Ōtaki to North of Levin (Ō2NL) highway project. In this role, you’ll contribute to procurement and cost management activities within the Ō2NL Southern Alliance, supporting effective project delivery and commercial outcomes.
About Ō2NL:
The Ōtaki to north of Levin (Ō2NL) highway will dramatically improve safety, resilience, and efficiency, as well as increasing transport choices for the area’s growing population. The Ō2NL project is led in partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga and council partner Horowhenua District Council.
This transformative project is being delivered using a two-alliance approach, with each alliance delivering a section of the road and associated works. Together alliance partners are working to create a positive legacy for the region, led by our project principles to tread lightly with the whenua and create an enduring legacy. We are seeking excellent people for this unique opportunity to work and collaborate with leading industry organisations.
Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
As a Quantity Surveyor on the Ō2NL project, you'll play a key role supporting the Commercial Manager in delivering procurement and commercial support across the Southern Alliance. This includes overseeing the Alliance Procurement Plan, managing the Head Contract, subcontracts and supply agreements, as well as supporting key processes such as supplier and contractor payments, tendering, estimating, and cost monitoring.
You'll work closely with the Commercial Manager, Design and Delivery teams to align procurement strategies with the overall needs of the Alliance — ensuring value for money, high service standards, and compliance with both the Procurement Plan and Alliance principles. This is a hands-on role where your commercial insight will directly support the successful delivery of a major infrastructure programme.
This role is based on-site at the Ōtaki South Alliance Office, so you’ll need to be located locally — or willing to relocate — within a commutable distance (no more than an hour from the project site).
