Te Whānau O Waipareira
Henderson-Massey, Auckland
Full time
At the heart of everything we do is our whānau. We’re looking for someone with the heart, skill and drive to walk alongside rangatahi and help them shape a future grounded in their own strength, identity and culture.

We’re calling for Rangatahi Learning and Development Kaimahi to join our Kōrure Whānau team — a role where you’ll design and deliver learning experiences that uplift, inspire, and transform the lives of young people who haven’t found their place in mainstream education.

This is a role for someone who:
  • Gets rangatahi — their wairua, challenges, potential and mana
  • Knows how to connect through kaupapa Māori values and practices
  • Can create learning that builds confidence, identity, and real-world skills
  • Loves working in a hands-on, whānau-first, community-based space

Ngā kawenga | What You’ll Be Doing
  • Building strong, mana-enhancing relationships with rangatahi and their whānau
  • Designing and delivering learning programmes that are culturally rich and practically focused
  • Supporting wellbeing through mātauranga Māori and pastoral care
  • Collaborating with other services to wrap support around each young person
  • Walking with rangatahi toward education, employment and personal growth
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience working with rangatahi (youth work, education, social work, mentoring or kaupapa Māori initiatives)
  • Understanding of kaupapa Māori approaches to learning and development
  • Ability to design creative, alternative education programmes
  • Strong relationships across whānau, iwi, hapū and community networks
  • A deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Whānau Ora
Bonus if you bring:
  • A relevant qualification (teaching, social work, youth development or similar)
  • Te reo Māori and tikanga confidence or a strong desire to grow in this space
He aha ai mātou? | Why Us?

Join a kaupapa Māori organisation grounded in Te Kauhau Ora o Waipareira – our values-led code of conduct.
  • Be welcomed into a whānau-first workplace that values wellbeing, authenticity, and collaboration
  • Access to professional development pathways and opportunities to grow your career
  • Based in West Auckland, close to public transport and community.
