Your Island Paradise Awaits

The position will be focussed on:

  • Managing visitor facilities, walking tracks, amenity areas and a campground
  • Overseeing water/sewage systems and public amenities
  • Supervising volunteers and coordinating contractors
  • Support the work of partners Ngai Tai ki Tamaki and volunteer groups on island

If you have some of following, we are keen to hear from you:

  • An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi principles.
  • Experience living and working on an island or other relatively remote location.
  • Ability to work 10 days on 4 days off
  • Interpersonal skills for dealing with visitors.
  • Practical skills including mowing and scrub baring; basic building and infrastructure skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Growsafe and/or weed control experience.
  • Willingness to work with community groups.
  • Excellent planning, administration and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated, flexible approach, self-aware and highly motivated.
  • Proficient in the use of a wide variety of computer software programmes; e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • A reasonable level of fitness.
  • Current full NZ driver licence, LUV and tractor sign off

The salary range for this position is $60,314 to $75,603 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
