About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join the Taranaki Cancer Centre in the role of a Referral and Scheduling Administrator has become available and applications are invited from experienced referral and scheduling administrators to fill this vacancy. You would be working as part of a dynamic team within the Medical Booking Team, and will be responsible for:
- Referrals Management.
- Open outpatient department clinic’s, scheduling patients’ appointments, communicating with our patients regularly.
- Administrative reviews / audits.
- Close working relationship with Consultants, Registrar’s, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist is required.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The position will be located in the new purpose built Taranaki Cancer Centre. You will be working alongside a wider team of medical and oncology reception, referral & scheduling administrators who work together to providing an excellent service, in a trusted environment that is focused on improving the patient journey. The new Taranaki Cancer Centre is a standalone, state of the art specialist cancer facility that has been purpose built to accommodate Radiation Oncology, Chemotherapy and visiting MidCentral Oncology/Haematology outpatient clinics.

About you
As a Referral and Scheduling Administrator working in Oncology you would ideally have experience in a healthcare setting an/or previous experience in an administration and reception role.
- Excellent working knowledge in Excel, Word, Email.
- Desirable skills would include working knowledge of WebPAS/IBA, MOSAIQ and Concerto patient systems with an in-depth knowledge of all modules is desirable.
- Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and proven experience working closely with a clinical team.
- Effective communication.
- Be able to react effectively in an ever-changing environment.
