About the Role
The Regional Group Manager for Hauora Māori Standards leads a dedicated team responsible for supporting the development and implementation of standards across Health New Zealand. As a key collaborator, this role works closely with regional teams and clinical leaders in Tikanga and Mareikura to co-design culturally responsive policies and guidelines. It also oversees the creation of evaluation and audit tools that integrate Hauora Māori standards into learning curricula and e-learning platforms.

As the Hauora Māori Service of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) our core role is to ensure New Zealanders have better and more timely access to health care. The devolution of resources and decision making to the regions ensures those closest to service users and whānau are involved in decisions on how healthcare is delivered. We are committed to ensuring our operating model is responsive to the needs of Māori.
About you
You bring senior leadership experience with a strong foundation in strategic planning and the successful management of large-scale programmes from development through to implementation. You also demonstrate a clear commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, supported by your understanding of the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act and other relevant health legislation.
You will have:
- Minimum 10 years' experience in policy and advisory roles within large organisations
- Extensive leadership in driving organisational initiatives at a senior level
- Strong knowledge and hands-on application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches
- Proven track record in managing complex projects; health sector experience is an asset
