The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Sales Manager to lead our team of Large Enterprise Account Executives across New Zealand, spanning both public and private sector clients. In this role, you'll be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic territory plans, and coaching a high-performing sales team to deliver exceptional value to our clients. Key Responsibilities
- Achieve or exceed assigned team revenue targets across New Zealand territories
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 6 quota-bearing Account Executives selling to both public and private sector clients
- Develop and execute territory strategies aligned with overall sales objectives to maximize market penetration and account growth
- Implement Gartner's recruitment methodology to attract and retain top sales talent
- Ensure team members can develop and maintain C-level relationships with key stakeholders
- Drive new business acquisition while maintaining strong retention rates with existing clients
- Provide leadership through effective communication of global strategy and regional priorities
- Deliver regular coaching and development to direct reports, improving team effectiveness
- Collaborate across teams, regions and departments to ensure best-in-class approaches to strategic initiatives
- Foster a collaborative team culture that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion
Qualifications
- 7-15 years of proven consultative sales experience in technology, professional services, or related fields
- Either 3+ years of successful sales management experience OR consecutive years of exceptional sales achievement at Gartner combined with sales management training and mentorship
- Strong track record of team leadership, mentoring, and motivating sales professionals
- Experience selling to and managing relationships with C-level executives
- Demonstrated business acumen with excellent forecasting and pipeline management skills
- Strong influencing and interpersonal skills to share knowledge and develop team members
- Experience with complex sales cycles and enterprise-level solution selling
- Understanding of both public and private sector sales environments in New Zealand
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
