We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Automation Tester to join our Customer, Onboarding, and Identity domain, within BNZ Technology.

We sat down with our Engineering Lead, and they let us know the following about the role.
What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Contributing to the team’s ceremonies (standups, refinement, retros etc).
- Building and maintaining automation test suites, and manage defect life cycle.
- Collaborating with the Developers to understand their implementations.
- Working with other Testers to build reusable testing patterns and contributing to BNZ testing communities
- Using monitoring and logging tools to diagnose issues and support systems owned by the team

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?
You will be key part of the team building and supporting the Customer Digital Identity product which provides Single Sign-On (SSO) capability for the bank. This is built on the Ping Identity platform and enables a range of new customer identification and authentication services.
What technical skills are required for this role?
- Automation Frameworks: A minimum of 5 years of experience in creating and maintaining advanced automation frameworks. Knowledge of Cucumber with selenium, REST Assured, and Playwright advantageous.
- End-to-End (E2E) functional testing: Proficiency in E2E testing of web applications
- Authentication Expertise: Understanding of OpenID Connect, tokens, certificates, and security.
- Proficiency in Java: Strong skills in Java, with exposure to Spring Boot.
- Code Debugging: Advanced exposure reading and debugging code for white box testing (including stack trace analysis).
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?
- Strategic thinking: Designing scalable automation frameworks, implementing shift-left testing, and ensuring high test coverage
- Problem Solving: Handling flakey tests, debugging efficiently, and optimizing test execution.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Mentoring juniors, collaborating with engineers, and improving the automation strategies to align with business goals
- Business Impact : Reducing the manual effort, improving release cycle & quality and tracking key metrics like defect leakage and automation ROI.
