Job Description
Shape the Future of Energy with Vector
At Vector, we’re not just upgrading infrastructure—we’re transforming how energy is delivered and experienced. Backed by a $4.6 billion investment over the next decade, we’re modernising our electricity distribution network and embedding smart, digital technologies across everything we do. This is the heart of our Symphony Strategy: a bold move toward a cleaner, more resilient, and more responsive energy future.
But our transformation goes beyond the grid. As a technology-enabled organisation, data is at the core of our evolution. We’re building intelligent platforms and products that turn information into action—enabling better decisions, unlocking innovation, and delivering real value to customers and communities.
To support this vision, we're seeking a Senior Cloud & Platform Engineer to join our high-performing team.

You’ll lead technical operations, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to keep our platforms future-ready.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading day-to-day cloud and platform engineering activities.
- Managing production and development environments with a focus on updates and cybersecurity compliance.
- Driving automation across infrastructure lifecycle, observability, and disaster recovery.
- Supporting and improving public cloud systems, especially AWS.
- Implementing IAM policies and cybersecurity controls.
- Collaborating with digital teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve and prioritise issues.
- Maintaining documentation and support procedures.
- Contributing to long-term strategy and scalability planning.
- Supporting deployment of software updates, patches, and configuration changes.
About You
You’re an experienced cloud engineer who thrives in complex environments. You enjoy mentoring others and are passionate about automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
You’ll bring:
- 7+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with strong AWS expertise.
- Deep understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- AWS Architecture Certification (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in DevOps, infrastructure automation (Terraform preferred), and observability tooling.

- Solid knowledge of server and OS administration.
- Experience leading agile practices and uplifting team capability.
- A customer-focused, data-driven mindset and excellent communication skills.
Why Join Vector?
