About your team / Ko te tima
The Communications and Government Services business unit brings together our performance planning and reporting, ministerial services, and communications functions.
We provide machinery of government and communications expertise and advice to the Executive Leadership team and the Board on our organisational risks and performance against our externally set metrics.
We are responsible for the management of our brand and external messaging as well as supporting the development of communications solutions related to our interventions.
About the role / O te turanga
We're looking for a natural storyteller-someone who doesn't wait for a story to land in their lap but goes out and finds it. As Senior Advisor Content, you'll take the lead in unearthing and crafting high-impact, engaging stories that resonate-particularly on social media, where attention is hard-won and great content cuts through. You'll need sharp editorial instincts, initiative, and the confidence to ask the right questions and shape narratives that captivate and inform.
This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring a self-directed content creator who thrives on finding the angle that others miss. You'll plan, develop, and deliver high-quality content across multiple platforms, including websites, social media, video, and print. Your work will play a key role in influencing target audiences, supporting strategic campaigns, and enhancing the organisation's reputation.
You'll also provide expert content advice tailored to different formats and audiences, and work closely with a high-performing team of senior advisors across a variety of projects and priorities.,
This role is a 12-month Fixed Term role.
What You'll Do/ Ko tou ake mahi
- Lead the production of high-quality content across multiple channels, including digital, print, video, and social media.
- Craft compelling, audience-focused narratives that align with WorkSafe's strategic goals and obligations.
- Provide expert content advice to teams and stakeholders, ensuring messaging is accessible and consistent with brand and tone.
- Develop and implement content strategies, using data and analytics to enhance engagement and impact across platforms.
- Manage complex content projects end-to-end, while contributing flexibly across portfolios and adapting to evolving communication needs.
What You'll Bring / Ko nga pukenga ou
- Over five years' experience in communications or marketing, with excellent writing, storytelling, and content creation skills across various formats and platforms.
- Proficient in technical content tools, including video, photography, editing, and basic web content management.
- Skilled in simplifying complex information, using data to create engaging stories, and tailoring content for diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of digital and social media, including the use of analytics to refine and improve content performance.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking, adaptability, cultural competency (including understanding of tikanga Maori), and strong relationship-building abilities.

Salary range / Awhe utu
As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $111,204 to $146,382, and our expected starting base salary for the right person is around the midpoint. Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
