We are seeking a dynamic individual with both leadership and technical skills to take on the role of Senior Data Specialist in our highly skilled and diverse Data Management Team. Your skills in data management, data governance, automation, migration and customer relations will ensure that Council meets its corporate data management responsibilities. The leading-edge work of the Data Management Team has been recognised internationally, and this innovative work is synonymous with how we run our daily operations. This role is responsible for working with the organisations data stewards and owners to ensure that data management processes and governance are in place to facilitate efficient and relation data collection.

To be successful in this position you will utilise both technical and leadership skills to:
- Coach and mentor team members, and others in the organisation, supporting them to achieve their objectives
- Communicate, present and document standards, policies and processes
- Build productive relationships between different business units and external partners to achieve success
- Collaborate and support the organisation to ensure industry standard governance and quality of the Council's diverse range of datasets
- Support and advance the information management strategy and the data automation centre of excellence

- Hours of work - Full time Monday to Friday
- Position - Permanent
- Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
- Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $96,465 - $107,183 per annum based on a 40-hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
